Install Relay

Run the installer

  1. Download Relay from the download page. It arrives as a .zip file.
  2. Right-click the zip and choose Extract All, then open the extracted folder.
  3. Double-click RelaySetup and follow the wizard.

The installer carries its own copy of everything Relay needs, so there's nothing else to install. It doesn't need admin rights. Relay installs for your Windows user only, and adds Start menu and desktop shortcuts. If Microsoft Edge WebView2 is missing (rare on Windows 11), setup downloads it.

"Windows protected your PC"

During the preview the installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may stop it the first time. Click More info, check the app name, then click Run anyway. Once the installer is signed, this message goes away.

Important: Only run installers you downloaded from your Relay account page. If in doubt, contact us before running it.

Where Relay keeps things

Your settings and database survive upgrades and uninstalls. To start from scratch, uninstall Relay and delete the %APPDATA%\Relay folder.

Updating

Download the new installer from your account page and run it over the top. Your settings, cases and skills stay as they are.

Uninstalling

Use Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Relay > Uninstall in Windows. Your data folder is kept in case you reinstall.
