Your first week with Relay
The safest way to start is to let Relay draft while you decide. This plan takes about 30 minutes a day.
Day 1: Install and connect
- Install Relay and follow the setup wizard: AI, mailbox and private names. See Getting started.
- In Ask Relay, describe your business and attach three to five key documents: services, prices, policies. Confirm the cards that look right.
- Open Identity, check your tone and sign-off, and click Study my business to see the gaps Relay still has.
Day 2: Watch it work
- Let real email arrive. Don't approve anything yet: just read the drafts on Approvals.
- For each draft, note what's wrong: a missing fact, the wrong tone, the wrong agent.
- Fix the cause, not the draft: add the fact to a file, adjust the tone in Identity, or add a name to Kept from the AI.
Day 3: Your first skills
- Pick the two most common emails you get, for example quote requests and order status.
- Add them from the skills library, or use Describe a task to draft them. See Build your first skill.
- Test each with Try an email on a few real examples.
Day 4: Agents
- If different people handle different email, ask Ask Relay to suggest agents and the arrows between them. See Agents and the Team view.
- Give each agent its own voice and notes, then watch the Team view as email comes in.
Day 5: Approve for real
- Start approving drafts you'd send yourself, editing the rest.
- At the end of the day, open Activity and see what was handled.
- Check What the AI saw on two or three cases to make sure private details were hidden.
After the first week
A good sign is when most drafts go out with light edits or none. When that's true for an email type, it's well taught. Keep adding skills one email type at a time.
